WWI Poem for History class
Clouds of dust rise through the air
As they blind the sunlight and darken the sky.
The horizon begins to fade to ash
And the day starts to transform in to night.
A pair of bloodshot eyes are looking in the distance.
Blinded and halfway closed, with no direction or place to go.
They struggle to open, and close again
As the bodies rot in the blood stained snow.
The hearts of the wounded pump with pain
As the memories flash throughout our minds.
The agony flows inside our veins
While we grieve the image of a sunlit sky.
The sun has been anchored to a horizon
And its slowly drowning in the sky.
The nights are growing cold and endless
As the world decays and we wonder why.
The stench of death consumes the air
As festering entities observe the sea.
Their eyes become useless, blackened holes
And civilization is left blinded and weak.
Theres a break of light surrounded in the shadows
A crevice of hope embedded in the night.
Its swallowed whole by a pitch-black ocean
As we're left with nothing to do but die.
A pair of blackened eyes gaze out at the unfathomable sea
Unable to confront true fate, they slowly creep shut
Joined by beaten hands which clench life with ease
Moments later they abruptly give way
Traveling slowly, sinking in to the deep
Accompanied by eyes which can no longer see
All that was known begins to fade
As existence is putrefied and blinded by a haze
Belief and distrust have been slaughtered
Sadness and happiness have withered away
As the air starts to decompose
Setting in stone an aftermath of eternal decay
A desolate field is further destroyed by raging gusts of wind.
As the clouds become invisible against a pitch-black sky.
Not yet deafened to shrieking civilians, violently crushed by the oceans fist.
The earth splits, and silent sufferers sink deep in to an abyss.
The remains of the past, shattered and torn, devour our hearts and plague our minds.
As the streets are painted, and the oceans become dry, existence is slaughtered.
No more than a quick flash, holding more gravity than a lifetime.
Countless bodies stain the planet red with limited time passing by.
The horror flashes past two eyes, no more than those will ever see.
This is life.

It's 7:30. She wakes up and wants to go back to sleep again. She wants to sleep forever. She wants to die. She'll get up and get ready for school, half asleep the whole time. But she's awake enough to hear her mom screaming. It's 7:45. She's on her first glass of wine.
She goes to school. She sees her friends. She approaches them and smiles. But it's not sincere. By now she's perfected a fake smile. She talks to them, pretending to be interested in what they're saying. She looks around. She sees other groups of friends smiling and laughing and talking. She sees teachers. She sees the lunch ladies going to the c
I blindly pick this crimson rose from a bouquet of death.
Its masquerade compellingly gazes back in to my eyes.
Thorns veiled with sorrow, and its darkness tinted to light.
Its disguise of beauty grew more transparent with every taken breath.
Sutures devour my eyelids, and sew my vision shut.
Vines of demise begin to coil tightly around my neck.
Now consumed with darkness, Im unable to escape.
The last breath escapes my lips as I endure the final cut.
Its deception has stolen the radiance out from my blinded eyes.
Though the revolting truth becomes easier to see each passing day.
Soon everyone will know that youre driven
